1. General information about the project
Project name: Tiper -18 AGO underwater pipeline leaks monitoring system
Location: industrial zone Kimboni, Dar-Es-Salam, Tanzania
Customer: Tanzania International Petroleum Reserves Limited (Tiper)
Type of project: the first one of a kind for the company 'Zhongon' in the field of monitoring of underwater pipelines leaks
Pipeline characteristics: a new underwater pipeline with a diameter of 18 inches, the total length is 1940 m (underwater part - 1100 m).
The transported environment: Ago (atmospheric gas).
Connects the Kurasini oil terminal with the Tiper plant.
2. The goals of the project
Main functions:
Real time monitoring with high accuracy of localization.
Minimization of false works and operational response to prevent environmental and economic losses.
Technical requirements:
Equipment with a cathode protection system and a leak monitoring system (designed by Zhongon).
High reliability for work in difficult underwater conditions.
3. The architecture of the system
Monitoring structure:
1 Central Station (Tiper dispatch) + 2 local data collection modules (Koj and Tiper).
Data is transmitted on a local network with time synchronization through GPS.
Key equipment: Siemens controllers, NI data collection modules, Rosemount pressure sensors, ultrasonic flow meters (provided by the Customer), Dell working stations.
Software: data collection and software for localization (development of Tianjin Jingyi Jingce).
4. Innovation and difficulties
Technological solutions:
The combination of the method of negative pressure and the method of balance balance sheet to increase accuracy.
Integration with SCADA data.
Features of the underwater environment:
The complexity of maintenance, protection against damage by anchors, the influence of marine conditions (waves, currents).
High requirements for data synchronization and system reliability.
5. Expected results
Accurate detection of leaks: rapid detection and localization.
Intuitive interface: visualization of the state of the pipeline.
Economic and environmental safety: reducing the risks for the environment and uninterrupted work.
6. The value of the project
Technologies export: demonstration of SUPCON advanced solutions in the field of industrial monitoring.
Potential for other regions: applicability in developing countries with sea booty (Africa, Southeast Asia).
7. Compliance with the strategy of the company
Vision: to become a world leader in industrial AI for sustainable development.
Mission: 'We make industry smarter, and customers are more successful.'
Values: a client orientation, innovation, reliability and initiative.
