Types of product use

An electromagnetic flow meter can be used to measure electrical conductive media, such as acidic, alkaline and saline solutions, pulp, wastewater, etc. However, the environment should not contain a large amount of ferromagnetic substances and a significant volume of air bubbles. It is widely used to measure the consumption in industries such as metallurgy, chemical industry, pharmaceuticals, pulp and paper industry, environmental protection, oil industry, light and textile industry, food industry, as well as in the field of municipal management and hydraulic construction.

Frequent questions
  • 1. How does an electromagnetic flow meter measure the flow rate?
    Created with Sketch.
    形状 Created with Sketch.
The electromagnetic flow meter operates on the basis of the law of electromagnetic induction of Faraday. When the electrically conductive liquid flows through the magnetic field, an EMF (voltage) occurs, proportional to the flow rate. By measuring this voltage, you can calculate the consumption.
  • 2. Can an electromagnetic flow meter measure gas, butter or clean water?
    Created with Sketch.
    形状 Created with Sketch.
    • You can measure:
Electric conductive liquids (specific electrical conductivity ≥5 μs/cm), for example:
    water
    Acid and alkaline solutions
    pulp, wastewater, etc.
    • You cannot measure:
Gases and steam (do not conduct current)
    Oils (dielectric liquids)
Clean water (too low electrical conductivity)
  • 3. Why does an electromagnetic flow meter require a complete filling of the pipe?
    Created with Sketch.
    形状 Created with Sketch.
    • For the accuracy of measurements, the pipe should be completely filled, otherwise possible:
    Undetered indications (incomplete filling)
Unstable signal (due to air bubbles)
    • Decision:
Vertical installation (stream from the bottom up)
Using the U-shaped site or ensuring the constant filling of the pipe
